I always thought it would be fun to date Miss America back when I was a young lad.

They didn't have to be real brainy back in the 1950, but the ladies had to be knockout gorgeous, look terrific in a bathing suit, and be able to smile at Bert Parks, an old duffer who was the Donald Trump of that era.

The standards have changed.

Now they have to be intelligent, socially aware, and more than just a pretty face.

On Sunday evening, Miss North Dakota, Cara Mund, became North Dakota's first Miss America.
