At 35, Travis Olafson, a Warroad native with an adventurous spirit who ran his own construction company and later worked in the North Dakota oil fields, couldn't escape his calling.

It's in his genes.

He's the son of a lawman.

Usually, when you're the son of a cop, there are questions about whether it was tough growing up and being the son of a Minnesota State Trooper.
