In my book, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, and Warren Spahn were the best ever in Major League Baseball.

Don't remember Spahn?

He won 363 games in the majors, the most ever by a lefthander. He compiled a 23–7 record when he was age 42

Actually, it comes down to different eras and different players. Fewer people remember quarterback Johnny Unitas of the Baltimore Colts, who played back in the 1950s and 1960s. He came off the sandlots to dominate the game for a number of years.
