Charlie Starren Receives Apple Award at Retirement Party

It was April 1972 when Charlie Starren began driving school bus for Roseau School District 682.

"I was only twenty-one when I started substitute driving Gordon Halverson's route," said Charlie. "He taught me everything I needed to know. That fall I took over for Luverne Goos. Then in 1974, I began driving Kenny Broten's route and have been driving Route 6 ever since."

Charlie Starren grew up riding the Route 6 bus to school every day and remembers a time when he got on the wrong side of bus driver Kenny Broten.

"I don't remember exactly how I misbehaved, but I clearly remember having to go...
