On February 28, the Lady Rams played their last home game in front of an amazing crowd. The first playoff game was against the Bagley Flyers. The Rams were dominant from the very beginning and were able to use their speed and athletic ability to take a 62-8 halftime lead. Coach Didrikson was able to play her whole bench in the second half and many different players were able to get some action on the court. The Rams were too much for the Flyers and the Rams were victorious 93-20. Scoring for...

by Reese Strand, English 12, Mrs. Didrikson Nothing describes a winter's day in Minnesota more than playing hockey on the river. Time after time it is something I will never grow sick of. Christmas break has arrived and the first thing I do is check the weather forecast for the day, it reads 20 degrees and sunny, pure perfection. I give my aunt a call to get the okay for us to come over. Her house sits right on the Warroad River and becomes my second home, winter and summer. Once our Suburban...
The Roseau Rams received the fourth seed in the north half of Section 8AA and they hosted the Thief River Falls Prowlers, who had the 5th seed. The game was played on Thursday, March 7th, in front of a very good crowd of sports fans. This team had already set a regular season record with 20 wins and were chomping at the bit to get that 21st win to tie the overall most wins in a season. Coach Hayden and staff would have the team prepared, but hey, this is March Madness baby! Time for upsets and all players are going to give it their all. The...
Terrific! Uncle Sam is out to catch disability cheats, and it can't come soon enough. In Sunday's New York Times, it was reported as follows: In its budget request to Congress last year, Social Security said it would expand the use of social media networks in disability determinations, partly to help identify fraud. We all know those rare neighbors who are on total disability and drawing Social Security while they're landscaping their yards, moving huge boulders, building deer stands, lifting...
Is cursing a crime? Nope. I read an article about cursing and it is just a way to take out your aggression. People who curse a lot are called straight shooters because they don’t care about who they offend by what comes out of their mouths. They said “Psychologists say people who curse a lot possess some commendable qualities. They are honest, expressive and more intelligent than others.” I try not to curse a lot, but I learned a lot of colorful words from my big brother and sometimes it just...
In last week’s article I examined the first of two things, which I am persuaded that we all need to understand about each other. First of all, WE ARE A WONDERFUL WORK OF GOD (no exceptions!) Right from childhood we should be able to see this reflected in the “mirrors of the lives of our parents; the truth that “God don’t make no junk!” Even as children, with the help of their parents, they can reflect the worth of other children (perhaps beginning with their siblings) can help with this. Now this week we’re going to examine something a...
