At six years old, Chuck Erickson got his first experience working at the Roseau County Fair. "Our next door neighbors, Vernon and Eileen Grand, had a popcorn wagon at the fair," Chuck recalled. "They paid me twenty-five cents for inserting sticks into a box of caramel apples. There were 150 apples in each box." Amy McGuire, the daughter of an Assemblies of God pastor and a small town girl who has been living in the big city for two decades, is excited about her new position as the Roseau Elementary School principal beginning this fall. Consider Ms. McGuire, who is married to an Irishman, an easy interview who never slows down about her life and times as a wife, educator, and mother of two young sons. • Here's Looking at you, Buster!

    Jeff Olsen|Jul 14, 2018

I'm stepping away from this game at the end of July on a leave of absence. This will provide a local writer the opportunity to share his or her talents in the Roseau Times-Region. I will still write wrestling articles, which is how I got into this racket in November 1980. I never intended to be controversial, especially most recently with the present incumbent, whose wildly devoted and fanatical followers will excitedly and repeatedly chant "Lock her up!" during his frequent campaign...

  • Believe it or not, It's ok to be human!

    Pastor Joe|Jul 14, 2018

I had a delightful experience on the 4th of July; it was the highlight of my day. Nor is it to take away from the splendtaculous (I just made up the word, right now!) fireworks in Warroad that night, which we also enjoyed together. Thanks, Warroad; it was “uplifting,” particularly at the neck level! Sometimes it’s great to be human and enjoy it. But! But! The highlight of my day took place ove...
