The Department of the Interior sent a letter to the city granting the designation on November 5. The older part of the arena has the iconic arched ceiling built in 1949. Roseau - Jack Lund, 81, of Roseau passed away peacefully on November 30th, surrounded by his family. Born on December 18, 1942, at Chilgren's Hospital in Roseau, Jack's life was marked by hard work, service to his country, and an unwavering love for his family. Warroad - Christine "Chris" Marie Nieman passed away November 19, 2024, at Roseau Manor in Roseau after her fight with metastatic breast cancer at the age of 74. Chris Nieman was born on September 17, 1950, in Minneapolis to Abe and Dorothy (Hunt) Lewis. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1968. On June 15, 1968, Chris married Allen Nieman. They were married for 54 years. Together they had two children, Danielle and Rex. They lived in Isanti where Chris worked at Ault Inc. for 15 years....

December is a month when I remember to count my blessings more often than any other month. It's the time of year that I enjoy shopping for all the special people in my life. Grandchildren are always at the top of my list. I have six grandchildren, plus a bonus granddaughter. They are scattered from Seattle to Bismarck, Thief River Falls, Baudette and North Carolina. It wasn’t exactly your ordinary Thanksgiving Day. I set the alarm for 6:15 a.m. A good time to get up to start preparing a Thanksgiving Day feast – but I was only doing part of the cooking this year.
