Minnesota Communities Should Prepare for Summer Threats

To the Editor,

Summer brings immeasurable enjoyment and fulfilment to our beautiful part of the country. Unfortunately, summer also comes with the threat of major disasters and potential catastrophe to our communities. High wind and hail from thunderstorms, tornados, wildfires, and flooding are just a few of the threats that accompany summer weather patterns in the upper Midwest. Manmade disasters can also strike with train derailments, pipeline breaches, community fires, or public safety and security incidents.
