On October 5, 2016 at 4:15 p.m. the Roseau County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting a one-vehicle rollover on County Rd. 2, approximately two miles east of County Road 5, which is SE of Warroad. Roseau County Sheriff’s Office, along with Warroad Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota DNR Conservation Officer, U.S. Border Patrol, Warroad Fire Department, Warroad Ambulance, and Valley Med Flight were all dispatched to the accident scene. The high school aged driver and passenger received serious injuries and had to be extracted from the vehicle by the Warroad Fire Department. The passenger was life flighted by chopper from the accident scene by Valley Med. The driver was taken by Warroad ambulance to LifeCare Medical Center, but was later life flighted by fixed wing to another hospital. The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
