You need an ID to do many things in this country - to board an airplane, buy a hunting license, and even register to vote.

Roseau County Auditor Martie Monsrud recently recalled that the Minnesota Legislature had considered legislation requiring Voter ID.

That measure never became law, but some in the Roseau area believe it should be the law.

Monsrud's office does not issue photo ID cards.

"It is the DMV that issues some kind of Minnesota ID," she said about the License Bureau in Roseau, noting that the Minnesota ID cards are for those who don't have a driver's license.
