Trooper Maurstad is declared Giglio-Impaired

On February 21, 2017, Roseau County Attorney Karen Foss issued a Giglio notice to two defense attorneys in regards to future testimony by Minnesota State Trooper Sergeant Sylvia Maurstad.

This legal notice was the result of previous testimony by Sgt. Maurstad, which had been called into question by Judge Paul T. Benshoof of the Ninth Judicial District.

In his ruling, Judge Benshoof noted the following:
