A POEM FOR MOTHER

 


A few years back I was preparing a sermon for Mothers Day, and as I was preparing it my thoughts of course focused on my own mother and our relationship. We were very poor but my mother had a heart of gold and would literally give the shirt off her back if necessary. She did the very best for us children with what little she had for herself. Her early life was a difficult one having spent many young years in a orphanage with her siblings. The reason was her mother could no longer care for them and her father worked for the timber companies and later the government in the logging business,...
