County looks to streamline prisoner medical costs

There is no "Get Out of Jail" free card, and it costs Roseau County whenever uninsured inmates require medical care.

That's the word from several Roseau County officials, who were interviewed recently about a newly approved contract with LifeCare Medical Center to provide in-house medical care at the Roseau County Detention Center.

"The County Board did approve the Jail Medical Service Contract," said Roseau County Commissioner Jack Swanson a week ago Tuesday following the board meeting.
