At the high school level, any athlete spotted chomping on a cigar would be declared ineligible.

Actually, it was the coin toss prior to the match that sealed the Rams' fate.

"It was a chess match to get the right match-up to try to win the dual," said assistant coach Scott Mooney. "We lost the toss and that put us in a real bind."

Also putting the Rams in a bind was forfeiting the first three weights to trail, 18-0.
