In late April, Governor Mark Dayton issued a proclamation regarding the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which authorized the creation of Community Action agencies to provide opportunities for self-sufficiency and success for those with limited incomes.

In proclaiming May as Community Action Month, he noted that Community Action agencies have made essential contributions to individuals and families in Minnesota by providing them with innovative and cost-innovative programs during the past half century.
