Wesley Thompson was a mighty fine man

 

It was a terrible time to die, of all unforgiving places, in a jungle and much too young. He was 20 with a unique gift that robbed us forever of his artistic talents.

He was walking point in the Republic of Vietnam on Sunday, December 14, 1969, in Thua Thien Province.

He was just a kid really with a lot of heart and spunk and hoping to live a long life. But he was an infantryman and did his job gallantly when he came under fire.
