Community Garden Has Multiple Benefits

 

"Even in rural America, gardening is becoming a lost art," said Kristina Kaml, Health & Nutrition Programs SNAP-ED educator, University of Minnesota Extension, Roseau. "Minnesota is trying to change that through programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and SHIP (Statewide Health Improvement Partnership), through education. Every $1 spent on nutrition education, saves as much as $10 in long term health care costs. I'm very excited about Roseau's Community Garden! There's been such amazing support in the community with volunteer help and donations!"
