This past weekend, I had the honor and privilege to watch four local area teams of young men compete in the 2018 Northwest North Pod American Legion Baseball Tournament held in Warroad. Before each game, the teams recited the American Legion Baseball CODE OF SPORTSMANSHIP. It states “I Will: Keep the rules, Keep faith with my teammates, Keep my temper, Keep myself fit, Keep a stout heart in defeat, Keep my pride under control in victory, Keep a sound soul, a clean mind, and a healthy body.” After the reciting of this pledge, the announcer stated “Play Ball”.
