Relay for Life was TKO'd by the weather

The Hearty Survivors

Just one word - miserable - best describes the annual Roseau Relay for Life, which was held at a new site - the Roseau Riverview Gazebo Park - this past Saturday.

It was a shame since the park should have been packed. Many cancer survivors registered and then left. They didn't want to catch pneumonia.

At 3:30 p.m., it was 45 degrees with a strong northeast wind that was bone-chilling.

Later, the temperature dropped a few more degrees and then came a cold drizzle, which basically shut it down several hours before the 9:30 p.m. closing ceremony.
