St. Jude Trail Riders shine again on a cloudy day

It was horse heaven last weekend at the Bemis Hill Campground in the Beltrami Island State Forest.

That's the straight scoop from Darlene Danielson, who considers horse manure on her boots much like sand sifting between her toes when she's at the beach.

She is 57 and the chief honcho for the St. Jude Children's Hospital fundraiser in Roseau County.

Just keep your eye on the ground if you're walking barefoot.

Justin Ryan, a rugged-looking character, was saddling up Sonny, a purebred quarterhorse. Shortly, he was talking big money.
