International Falls - Arlene Sarah Pelland, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2018 at her home in International Falls after a challenging struggle with ALS.

Arlene was born on December 15, 1940, and grew up on the family farm in Pencer. She was the daughter of Arthur and Signe Carlson and a sister to 6 siblings.

In her early years, she spent time as a nanny for the children of a local dentist and worked at several resorts on Rainy Lake cleaning cabins and assisting in the kitchen.
