Roseau - Ilene M. Johnson was born in Strathcona to the late Nels and Bertina (Olson) Strandberg on April 15, 1932.  She attended school in Detroit, Mich., and later in Edina, before returning to the Strathcona community with her parents.  Ilene worked on the Conrad and Alma Olson farm for a while before being united in marriage to Glenn Johnson on December 23, 1950 at First Lutheran Church in Middle River and the two continued to make their home in the Strathcona community for a year.
