For 20 years, District 5 Commissioner Mark Foldesi took his seat with the Roseau County Board and was impossible to miss due to his NFL size, frequent wit, occasional stubbornness, and an "aw shucks" attitude.
He was like Li'l Abner in the Al Capp comic strips of years ago - always colorful and extremely quotable.
A week ago Wednesday, he was honored at the Roseau County Board Room.
"They gave me a cake and a plaque. I wanted a check but, no, that didn't come," he said with a chuckle.
He didn't run for reelection because he figured five terms were long enough.
