I was surprised to see that Steve Hall, a Brainerd native, passed away.

I first met Steve in 2000, shortly after purchasing the Times-Region. He and his wife owned some hunting land in Roseau County and there was a pending lawsuit. He was seeking the help of the paper to get his word out.

We assisted him with his request and ever since we remained friends.

He invited Stacy Dunham, who was a friend and employee, and myself to Nashville. We immediately went. It was a trip of a lifetime.
