Forget the "i" before "e" except after "c".

It was for all the marbles a week ago Monday evening in the School Community Theater as 16 of the finest spellers competed in the Roseau School District's Spelling Bee.

With Mr. Len Wenzel pronouncing each word, using it in a sentence, and repeating the word again, the judges - Mrs. Sherry Nelson, Mrs. Carla Olsen, and Ms. Ann Olson - determined if the contestant had spelled a word correctly.

"One wrong letter and it's over," said Ms. Olson. "We encouraged them to write the word down on a piece of paper and then spell it out."
