Gail Johnson, 80

Roseau - Gail was born on August 2, 1939, to Ed and Vi Johnston in Roseau. She married Dick Johnson on June 28, 1957, and they loved life together.

Gail lived a full life of love of her family, job, and volunteering. She worked at Roseau Elementary School as a secretary for 40 years until retirement. She was involved in the building of Oak Crest Senior Assisted Living, something she was very proud of. She also volunteered at the Four Seasons Senior Center, LifeCare Medical Center, and anywhere somebody needed her. She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church all her life.

Gail enjoyed golf, cross stitching, knitting, and baking for everyone (Swedish rye bread and chocolate chip cookies were her specialties). Gail rarely missed any of her family's events and was a very avid sports fan. She was Dick's "assistant" to the Roseau Peewee hockey team for over 40 years. She loved to watch the kids develop their skills.

Gail is survived by her husband Dick; daughter Deb; grandchildren Abby (Ross), Holly (Erik), Avery (Moriah), Tyler, Zach (Sarah), Erin, and Sarah; great-grandchildren Ava, Lyvia, Shay, and Liam; and sisters Sally and Aileen.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Vi; brother Eddy; son Scott; and granddaughter Jenny Lynn.

Gail will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau. A visitation was on Sunday at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Interment will be at the Hope Cemetery at a later date.
