Florence Gladys Halvorson was born on April 28, 1920 to Edward and Julia (Morken) Anderson in Piney, Manitoba. She attended school in Piney and worked as a housekeeper for local farmers in the Piney area. Florence married Severin Halvorson on October 30, 1940 in Thief River Falls..
