She fended off a pit bull attack with her toolbox

Caroline Allard, a Canadian lass and an engineer at Polaris in Roseau, wished she'd had one more tool in her toolbox when a pit bull attacked her pooch on Monday, May 20.

"My dog, Pelly, is six and weighs about 40 pounds and is my full-time companion," she said this past Monday evening, adding that Pelly is a medium-sized Husky breed from the Arctic.

"I was in my garage on Monday, May 20, and I live at the Roseau Court Townhomes," she said. "I was looking over my truck as my neighbors were moving a mattress into their house when their pit bull exited their apartment unleashed."
