Happy Father's Day!

MY (Jodi's) DAD

Father's Day is upon us and I am very thankful to have two fathers in my life.

I had no choice in the matter with one, but wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. (So far he hasn't traded me in either, so I must be an ok daughter!)

The other is my father-in -law to be. Not only was I fortunate to end up with a great fiancé but I was blessed that he came with a great dad too!

There are many people who have lost their dads and/or never had one present in their lives from the beginning. So I am very fortunate to have two great dads!

I can guarantee either one would be there in a heartbeat to help me and guide me.

Also when you have a dad you always have someone to count on for anything. Whether it's lending a helping hand, an ear to listen or just to love me for the crazy person I am, I am one very lucky and loved girl and they are very much loved right back! Happy Father's Day to all the great dads and the moms who play both roles!

Brandon

I have been in a bit of a shock mode this summer. Brandon has always been great to help, if I would ask him.

He has always done anything he can to help me out but usually not on his own.

Well, this summer he has definitely turned into an adult. (He will still always be my kid no matter how much of an adult he acts like!)

I think the first shocker was when he washed, dried, hung up and folded MY CLOTHES.

Obviously he has been at college so he has done everything for himself including washing his own clothes even when he came home for the weekend. But to do MY laundry and I didn't even ask him to! He has known how to do most everything since a very young age but usually had to be asked to help.

Since I am used to doing pretty much everything around the house myself, especially my laundry, it came as quite a shock.

I was very appreciative and he hasn't stopped "just doing things" to help. He no longer needs guidance. He just does what needs to be done. He knows I am at work a lot so he is doing his part to help and then some!

You often wonder if you did an ok job raising your kid and I can now say I did. He has made me proud. He is a great help. His girlfriend Ariah has been helping out as well, but since she didn't live with me her whole life (and is a girl) it hasn't put me into shock, but she is appreciated as well.

I can officially say that if they keep this up I don't think I will want them to leave this fall for college (Brandon) and the National Guard (Ariah).

My next shocker was Brandon had an appointment in Grand Forks. He sent me a Snap and I was figuring it was going to be a puppy that we had to have because we had a discussion on that the day before. Nope it was a video saying thank you for buying them lunch.

That was super nice, but wasn't the shocker because they are both polite kids.

The phone rings and it's Brandon. "I was wondering if you would like a pair of Van's like mine?" He asked. I'm in a bit of a shock.

You are going to spend your money on me, was my first thought. It's ok for me to have something the same as you, was my second thought. (Parents are so uncool at their age, I thought!)

I immediately said, "YES"! We discussed the shoes a bit and I left it up to him to pick out which ones he thought I would like. Ariah and I were the same size so we were good there too.

When I saw the shoes I was amazed. They were perfect for me! I couldn't have done a better job if I was to go pick them out myself.

I love these kids to pieces! They are both very thoughtful, polite, helpful and just all around AWESOMETASTIC!! And Brandon made the Dean's List!! I think it's going to be a great summer!!
