Northern Minnesota's first breast milk depot to open at LifeCare

LifeCare's Alicia Huston, RN, CLC, Jessica Simmons, MD, Heidi Lien, RN, CLC Donna Johnson, RN, PHN, Nate Brovold, RN, CNO, and Emily Van Essen, RN, CLC, PHN from the Minnesota Milk Bank in Golden Valley, are pictured with LifeCare's freezer which will be used to store breast milk donated by women who are approved through a screening process to participate in the milk donation program. As the representative for the only Milk Bank in MN, Van Essen, was happy to congratulate LifeCare as the first Breast Milk Depot in Northern Minnesota.

LifeCare Medical Center is opening a new depot. This unique depot will be the first of its kind located north of St. Cloud in Minnesota. Instead of housing trains or buses, store large quantities of equipment or food, this Depot will hold something else of value: breast milk.

LifeCare Milk Depot officially opened on Monday, August 5, 2019. The Depot is a place where women can bring extra breast milk to donate to other babies.
