RHS Homecoming 2014 Top Ten were Hannah Radcliffe, Connor Millner, Tianna Gunderson, Daniel Halstensgard, Nicole Miller, Joseph Vatnsdal, Bailey Holter, Will Czeh, Kalleen Kvien, Gabe Magnusson, Aaron Krahn, Rebekah Danielson, Levi Acker, Brittany Espe, Ethan Johnson, Morgan Bicker, Brandon Pfeiffer, Alexis Melby, Kellen Foss and Lauren Santl.
On August 4, Amy Carlson was hired as the new Civil Process Supervisor/Office Manager at the Roseau County Sheriff’s Department.
Isaac and Nicole Olson welcomed their first child, Rad Olson, born on September 16. Proud grandparents are David and Colleen Olson of Roseau, and Scott and Rita Walker of Duluth, great-grandmother Irene Olson of Roseau and great-grandmother Patricia Oien of Florida.

Roseau’s finest were hosting their 24th annual firefighter barbecue and ball on September 26.

The Roseau Diner was celebrating their 5th anniversary and customer appreciation on October 1- October 7.
Darrin and Juli Smedsmo were celebrating their marriage with a Roseau Dessert Reception on September 26 with an open house at the Roseau Evangelical Covenant Church.
The Roseau Ram volleyball team defeated East Grand Forks 23-25, 25-11, 25-11 and 25-19. Setareh Mostofi had 13 kills, Haley Kelly 12 an Elizabeth Housker 11 kills for Roseau.

Frank Rentfrow of the Rentfrow Auction Company announced that $2,100 was raised in a benefit auction for the Scott Warne family.
Brian and Julie Pastir announced the birth of their daughter Stephani Jo on August 29. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Richard Peterson of Hallock and Mr and Mrs. Norbert Pastir of Roseau.
Jennifer Hayes, daughter of Norman and Mary Hayes of Roseau, was recently awarded a Heritage Scholarship and English/Journalism Scholarship from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Roseau Ram Erica Espe won the Roseau Invitational Cross-Country meet and also the Warroad Invitational.
Inez Breiland was celebrating her 90th birthday on September 25 at the Dennis Breiland home.
At the Oakcrest Golf Club annual meeting Steve Czeh was elected president, succeeding Jim Lundbohm, Greg Harmon continued as vice-president and the treasurer was Sue Butler.
Chris Gotziaman of Roseau was at the Chicago Blackhawks’ training camp at Chicago Stadium the past two weeks. He survived the first 25-man cut and hoped to make either the top club of a top minor league affiliate.

Salol’s grandmother of the week is Mrs. Mary Grafstrom. A girl was born to the Lester Grafstroms.
Two Roseau High School graduates, Tim Grittner, son of Mr and Mrs. Quentin Grittner and Mark Knochenmus, son of Earl Knochenmus, were recently accepted for enrollment at the East Grand Forks Area Vocational Technical Institute.
Offensive backs of the Roseau Football Rams were Randy Holmgren, Sheldon Weston, Craig Vacura, Mark Huglen and Al Desrosier.
Jerry Lee Klema of Roseau and Pamela Jean Bunke of Roseau applied for a marriage license on September 13.
50 years ago – Sept. 18, 1969
K and S Texaco in Roseau was named an authorized Polaris dealer.
The Roseau Ram football team was defeated at Sacred Heart of East Grand Forks 46-6. Bill Lundbohm snared a 62-yard pass from John Harris and whipped over for the lone Ram counter. The seniors on the team were John Harris, Pat Hallie, Jackie Olson, Rod Johnson and Charles Erickson.
Twins(girl & boy) were born to Mr and Mrs. Orville C. Tangen of Roseau on August 28.
Boys were born to Mr and Mrs. Robert A. Stotts of Roseau on August 29; Allan G. Magnusson of Roseau on Sept. 1; and Thomas E. Jacobson of Roseau on Sept. 6.
Bradley Teubner, Roseau High School student, was named a semi-finalist in the 1969-70 National Merit Scholarship Program.
75 years ago – Sept. 21, 1944
Esther Marie Nyquist and Woodrow Peterson of Roseau were wed at the home of the bride on Park Avenue.
The Budd Hospital now had a complete nurse staff so Mrs. Marie Budd can retire as Hospital Head.
Miss Helen Kompelien of Ross commenced teaching in school district No. 21.
A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs.Omer Espe of Pencer at the E.A. Lundquist home on September 16.
Betty Meyer, little daughter of Mr and Mrs. John Meyer of Roseau, broke her right arm between the elbow and the shoulder when she fell from a swing.
