November mornings have turned chilly and crisp in the north woods of Minnesota. A pink-orange sunrise reveals a frost covered ground, as an icicle wind blows the last leaves clinging to the branches of birch and poplar trees. Hunters are looking forward to their favorite time of year; deer season.

Clyde Friesner grew up in a family of deer hunters and passed on the hunting tradition to his three sons Shane, Ryan and Travis. During the summer months, acreage is tilled and planted with food plots of soybeans and clover near their cabin in Lake of the Woods County. Mineral blocks have bee...
