Since 2014, the state of Minnesota provides funding to counties each year to prevent the introduction and limit the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS). The Lake of the Woods and Roseau County Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) partner together to jointly utilize the legislative appropriation to address AIS on Lake of the Woods. Together the SWCDs provide AIS inspectors at local water accesses during the open waters season to help boaters understand and follow the AIS laws.  The inspectors are there to educate the boaters to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive specie...
