Roseau -Gladys "Gladie" Markstrom was born in Reine Township of Roseau County on March 28, 1927 to Einar and Alice (Weaver) Simonson. Gladie married Levoy "Kian" Markstrom on July 2, 1945; they had one son, Brian.  Gladie lived in Roseau her entire life and loved the town and residents. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Vicki) and granddaughter Katie of Rosemount; brother Marvin Simonson of Roseau; sisters Audrey Baumgartner of Minneapolis, and Hazel Wolfe of Stillwater. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kian; and...
