I have never recovered from reading Rabbi Abraham Heschel's probing book, Man's Quest for God. It is written to Jewish worshipers, but there's a strong message there for all of us; particularly Christians. In Chapter one he writes: "To the man of our age nothing is as familiar and nothing as trite as words. Of all things they are the cheapest, and most abused and least regarded.
