Ellen "Tootie" Otto, 70

Warroad- Ellen "Tootie" Otto of Warroad, passed away peacefully at her home in Warroad surrounded by her family on February 11, 2020 at the age of 70.

Ellen was born on October 29, 1949 in Roseau to Alvin and Theresa (Novacek) Heddan. She grew up in Greenbush and graduated from high school in 1968. She moved to Minneapolis, to work and attend school. She and Larry Otto were married on August 1, 1970. They lived in East Grand Forks before moving to Warroad in Moranville Township and raised four boys. In addition to her work at home, Tootie worked at the Dairy Queen in Warroad for 15 years.

Her faith and her church (St. Mary's Catholic) were very important to her. She enjoyed working with her flowers and garden; and canning her vegetables. She will be remembered as a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her husband, Larry of Warroad; sons, Chad of Warroad, Kevin of Middle River, Troy of Skime, and Travis (Shawn) of Warroad; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings, Marge (Leonard) Geske of Thief River Falls, Jennifer (Daryl) Bushee of East Grand Forks, Pattie (Jason) Friske of Ramsey, Elvin (Naomi) Heddan of Warroad, Arthur (Leatha) Heddan of Warroad, and Alroy Heddan of East Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warroad. Interment will be at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery.  Online guest book at: http://www.helgesonfuneralhome.com
