Getting used to the new normal

On Tuesday morning, I texted a very good friend, Aaron Rose, who was born on St. Patrick's Day right here in Roseau exactly 42 years ago.
"You'll remember this birthday. Even the bars are closed! Luckily, the liquor store is still open."
If I were a bookie, I'd be crying right now. How's a guy going to make some easy money if there isn't even a game to bet on?
It's the new normal.
I don't know what to think now that the bars are shut down.
I hardly drink anymore.
In the old days, there was a tavern every few blocks in most big cities.
They were neighborhood bars, and you saw the same people...
