Roseau- Jeanette Arline Wellen was born in Roseau, on October 25, 1924, to August and Agnes (Holt) Solem. She grew up in the Ross area and attended school there.
On December 25, 1948, Jeanette married Lloyd Jalmar Wellen in Badger. One year after marriage they moved to International Falls, and she resided there for approximately 20 years before moving back to Roseau. Jeanette worked as a nurse's aide at Sheltering Oaks nursing home in Roseau for over 20 years. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Ross.
