The day came where I finally became an auntie to a sweet little girl. She is an angel! Soraya Angelica, a perfect little girl, whose auntie is ready to spoil her!

She is so tiny and sweet. She weighed 6 lbs. and 13 oz. and was 20 inches long.

Cecile had quite a time with a 22 hour labor, but I think she would do it all over again to get her precious package of love.

She looked like a very proud mom right along with the proud dad and big sister Rayne.

Congratulations! I'm ready to auntie sit anytime.

Doctor

I was feeling a bit left out by everyone going to the doctor but me. Not really! I got to join everyone else with the doctor visits and I will say anything I end up with seems to always be something weird.

I had my sciatica pain all winter and then it decided to start behaving as the weather warmed up.

This is two years in a row that it has happened this way so I think Dr. Matt should write me a prescription to live somewhere warm during the winter.

Once my sciatica was better my arm decided to act up, but Dr. Matt fixed that right away.

Then...my body decided it was being too normal and my little toe that had been numb during the sciatica situation decided to start hurting.

Who would think a little toe could make a person so miserable. It is complete craziness. It is nowhere near the pain of the sciatica, but holy moly does it hurt!

I finally went to the doctor and he sent me to see a vascular surgeon in Grand Forks.

They were able to get me in Monday but...I can't say I know much more than before I went.

They did an ultrasound of my legs and arms to compare pressures and then my toes too.

This was an interesting experience to say the least. I do know my little toe is having some sort of an issue and my big toe and index toe are having a little bit of an issue.

What I didn't find out is what is wrong. The surgeon recited a whole medical book of things that could be wrong and even told me a few things that she knew it wasn't. Ok, this is all great, but I'm the type of person that just wants you to get to the point and tell me what it is and what I need to do to fix it.

That didn't happen and I'm still at a loss of knowing what is going on. I go back in three weeks and switch my blood pressure meds.

The surgeon would like it to happen more and then she would do more testing. Ummm...MY TOE HURTS NOW! Fix it, please!! Needless to say I really don't know much more than before I went and it still hurts. It is getting a little bit better though and it's not as purple/blue.

Creamy Jalapeno Popper Ham Pasta

Ingredients

2-3 c ham, cut into small pieces

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup diced onion

1 tablespoon minced garlic

2 1/2 cups uncooked penne pasta (I used large elbow pasta)

1 1/2 cups water

2-3 jalapeño peppers minced

4 ounces cream cheese

1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Colby Jack cheese

4 slices cooked bacon

Sliced jalapeño, for garnish

Freshly chopped parsley, for garnish

Directions

In a 12" pan or skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and stir until soft, about 3 minutes. Add ham to pan and cook until warm. Stir in garlic and cook one additional minute. Add uncooked pasta, water and sliced peppers. Stir and then bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 22 minutes. Uncover and cook until almost all of the liquid is absorbed, about 5 additional minutes. Remove from heat, stir in cream cheese and shredded cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Garnish with bacon, sliced jalapeños and fresh parsley. Enjoy

Joke of the Week

An old farmer died leaving his 17 horses to his 3 sons.

When his sons opened up the will it read:

"My eldest son should get 1/2 (half) of total horses;

My middle son should be given 1/3rd (one-third) of the total horses;

My youngest son should be given 1/9th (one-ninth) of the total horses."

As it's impossible to divide 17 into half or 17 by 3 or 17 by 9, the three sons started to fight with each other.

So, they decided to go to a farmer friend who they considered quite smart, to see if he could work it out for them.

The farmer friend read the will patiently, and, after giving due thought, brought one of his own horses over and added it to the 17.

That increased the total to 18 horses.

Now, he divided the horses according to their father's will.

Half of 18 = 9. So he gave the eldest son 9 horses.

1/3rd of 18 = 6. So he gave the middle son 6 horses.

1/9th of 18 = 2. So he gave the youngest son 2 horses.

Now add up how many horses they have:

Eldest son 9

Middle son 6

Youngest son 2

TOTAL = 17

This leaves one horse over, so the farmer friend takes his horse back to his farm.
