Big Questions Loom For this School Year

Talk about contrasts.

A week ago Thursday, various officials gathered at noon for the ground-breaking ceremony for the $40 million Roseau Community Schools construction project.

There was a good turnout, according to Roseau School Superintendent Tom Jerome.

"I was very happy and I really feel proud of our community," he said afterwards.

Mr. Jerome spoke first, noting that it had been a community grass roots movement.

"It was an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation to everybody who made this possible and had spent a lot of time and energy over the last couple of years...
