Tyler Hovda, an underwater enthusiast with a flair for discovering the unusual while 30 feet below the top of a lake, recently discovered a tomahawk in a lake near Clearwater, Minnesota, which could date back several centuries.
This is right up Hovda's alley.
"I was Scuba diving with an underwater metal detector a week ago Sunday at 10 a.m.," he said about his notable find on August 16.
"It's just a little hand-held metal detector. You swim along and I was in a real boring spot and I was like, 'This is not fun!' All of a sudden in the middle of nowhere there was a beep."
