Badger was in the spotlight for winning KVRR TV’s “Town of the Year” honors for 2015.

Lillian N. Erickson, daughter of Steven and Bonnie Erickson of Roseau, was recently called to serve in the Honduras, San Pedro Sula West Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Winners of the Little Brothers Little Sisters annual golf scramble held on August 1 was the team of Mike Lundbohm, Mary Lundbohm, Aaron Huglen and Nathan Adrian.

A 60th birthday party for Kenneth Zimdars was to be held on September 19 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Wannaska.

Jim Foss was the Oakcrest Golf Course Men’s Club Champion and Christine Reese was the Womens Champion.

The men’s golf league champions for 2015 was the team of Czeh, Pederson and Wilson. Team members were Byron Strand, Donn Haugen, Mark Wilson, Evan Wilmer, Rob Larson and Carson Hedlund.

10 years ago – Sept. 4, 2010

An open house anniversary party for Henry and Loretta Voll was to be held on September 11 at the Norland Lutheran Church.

The Oakcrest Golf Course Women’s Champion was won by the Prior Electric team. Team members were Tanya Ulvin Byfuglien, Angie Swanson, Amy Bassingwaite, Dawn Hedlund, Sharon Pelowski, Mary Ann Olafson and Joni Wensloff.

Oakcrest club tournament men’s champion was Jason Tangen. The women’s champion was Christine Reese. The senior champion was Mike Lundbohm and Jordan Radcliffe was the junior champion.

25 years ago – Sept. 8, 1995

Omar Rood, the Roseau River Watershed District engineer proposed an idea that would release most of the city of Roseau from the flood plain (lower 100-yard flood by two feet).

Susan Dokken, daughter of Mark and Lynette Dokken of Roseau, recently won a backpack full of school supplies in a Roseau Women of Today drawing.

A 45th wedding anniversary open house for Mr. and Mrs. Art Loken was to be held on September 16 at the Milo Loken residence in Skime.

The Roseau Ram football team dropped their first game of the season in a 36-13 loss to the Pelican Rapids Vikings. Roseau touchdowns were scored by Aaron Hokanson.

New faculty members at the Roseau School were Pamela Solberg, Gayle Gram, Dan Urness, Jim Lundbohm, Jana Nelson and Bonnie Wensloff.
