Take a walk with the Sandland brothers, Keith and Tim, a couple of sawyers, and you might hear the birds chirping.

They see the trees and visualize the boards they can saw on their sawmill out in Malung.

If you need a rare piece of rough or planed lumber, see them.

On a recent fall day, Keith was explaining how he got into this racket.

"I kind of grew up around this business. My dad, Kenneth, had a sawmill, an old circle blade. Every so many years, we'd saw lumber as kids," he said, recalling a lifetime ago.
