You get a helping hand at the Roseau Area Food Shelf

Every Tuesday between 2 and 4:30 p.m. at the old Roseau Law Enforcement Center, Iona Ferderer and her exceptional volunteer staff do what they do best.

They distribute boxes of food to those in need.

"Whoever comes in who is in need gets helped," said Iona.

The straight scoop is that law enforcement occasionally tips off the staff when someone is in need of a box of groceries.

Once, those in need would file in to pick and choose.

Not these days.

"We haven't allowed the public in because of this virus," she said, explaining that they distribute the food outdoors.
