Phil Wang has a Southern twang.
Go figure!
He hails from Greenbush.
Ordinarily, visitors from the Twin Cities assume that our local speakers are Canadians.
Speaking by phone from Georgia last Saturday, Phil, 71, remarked that he and his wife are not taking any chances getting re-infected with Covid.
Once, he had to avoid booby traps, land mines, incoming mortars, sniper fire, and the Viet Cong.
It's Covid he couldn't avoid.
"We're playing it pretty safe these days," he said, adding that he and his wife, Vickie, avoid crowds because of the pandemic.
