Badger’s newest American citizen is Ketsarin Sriyota. She is married to Badger native, Corey Christianson and owns the grocery store in Badger.

Cheryl Grafstrom was a $500 Roseau Holiday Fantasy winner.

The Roseau Hockey Rams got blitzed by Bemidji, 5-0 and defeated the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers 4-2. Scoring for Roseau were Cody Gumeringer, Brandon Lund, Alec Severson and Bryden Lund. Willie Woolever in goal had 39 saves on 41 shots.

First place winners in the Roseau Christmas Lighting Contest were Kurt Dahlquist, Alex McMillin and Jake’s Pizza.

10 years ago – Jan. 1, 2011

Sheri Rourk, a Warroad resident and independent consultant with Tastefully Simple, Inc. was now a Team Leader.

Marvin Window employees honored as the 2010 recipients of the President’s Award at the annual profit sharing meeting were Eric Klein of Roseau, Kim Mortenson of Malung, Andy Krank of Badger and Diana Vaudrin of Grafton.


The movie “Tangled” was showing at the Roso Theatre.

The Roseau Girls Varsity hockey team was defeated by Warroad 0-4. The Roseau goaltender was Dallas Barry.

First place winners in the Roseau Christmas Lighting Contest were Lowell Peterson, Roseau Diner and Kurt Dahlquist.

25 years ago – Jan. 5, 1996

The City of Roseau , The Roseau County Trailblazers Snowmobile Club and Polaris Industries joined forces and developed a safer route for snowmobiles to travel through the city.

The Roseau River Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters’ Association were to begin feeding deer that might be stranded in deep snow and running out of food in and around Roseau County.

Leonard and Clarise Swart were celebrating their 50th anniversary on January 14 with an open house at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Badger.

Robert Santl of Salol was the lucky winner of a Polaris 4-wheeler in the final Roseau Holiday Fantasy drawing.

The Rams boys basketball team defeated the B-G-MR Gators 46-45. Greg Pladson was the leading Roseau scorer with 17 points. Mike Benke hit nine, Jacob Mertens and Isaac Lang both added seven and Matt Sjulstad added six.

The Roseau hockey team defeated the Thief River Falls Prowlers 4-1. Roseau goal scorers were Bryan Lundbohm, Neal Vatnsdal, Chad Degerness and Trevor Hammer. Aaron Hokanson got the call in net for the Rams.
