I grew up learning early what the word resolution meant. Getting up for school every morning, no exception unless I was sick, demonstrated the word resolution. Being home when "sick" wasn't any fun. You had to stay in the house, and not go anywhere. Plus, I had to bring a note from my mother as to why I wasn't in school. My school would check up on me with a call to my home.
