Roseau's Long Distance Runner Never Slows Down

On a recent weekday evening, Russ Sorenson, a chap with stamina and surely a stubborn streak, had just finished another of his six and a half mile weekday runs.

He runs farther on the weekends.

Some people, including his friends, call him "Crazy Russ."

It fits.

But he's not crazy, is fully coherent, and runs in the worst weather conditions.

"I can't run inside because the school is closed," said the Polaris factory worker of 33 years.

In another month, he will be 62 and should be thinking about less taxing activities like shuffleboard.

Fat chance of that.
