Black Beach was amazing!

Best Friends

We arrived at Black Beach Campground...ummm where are our spots?! This campground isn't quite what the pictures displayed. It was a decent location as far as you were right by everything you needed, and the showers and bathrooms were nice for those of you that would need to use them.

The campground is comprised of 49 sites and is situated on 14.5 acres adjacent to the shores of Lake Superior in the heart of the North Shore.

You can't see Black Beach from the campground, but you could go for a very long walk to get to it.

We chose to drive to the beach and it was AMAZINGLY SPECTACULAR! I would say, if you haven't been to Black Beach, you should take a drive and check it out. This would be the ideal time, and you could see all the fall colors, too!

The guys decided they needed to climb the rocks to move a flag to a higher location. Sarah and I watched and watched...it never happened. They couldn't get to the flag and they were a bit tired by the time they got back down to the ground.

I think they forget that they aren't as young as they once were! Sarah and I had a great time down on the beach while they were on their little excursion.

We made two trips to the beach. The first time was rock collecting for me. Sarah found me a nice one. It was out in the crystal clear water. She might have gotten a bit wet, but she got the rock! The second trip was the guys and their flag attempt and I collected some black sand. Rocks and sand are the best souvenirs for me!

Black Beach had crystal clear water, amazing sand and views that I will never forget! I highly recommend going there, but I would pick a different place to stay. I know we will be going back again. I'm hoping next year.

I will share a few more adventures that we took part in while visiting the Lake Superior area next week.

Breakfast Bake

Ingredients

1 can Flaky Grands Biscuits

8 oz. bag shredded cheddar or more if you are like me

1/2 cup milk

1 cup cubed ham

1 cup italian sausage

1/2 cup bacon bits

5 eggs

You can add in any chopped veggies you want too - onions, peppers, mushrooms and olives.

Salt and pepper

Add all ingredients and mix, saving biscuits for last.

Directions

Place the ingredients in an oiled 9x13 pan. Cut biscuits into fours and carefully place on top.

Cook 25-40 minutes at 350. (Some ovens may take longer) You can't mess this up and it comes out looking JUST like picture.

Joke of the Week

Late one evening a Marine pulled into a little town, only to find that every hotel room was taken.

When he finally got to the last hotel, he pleaded to the manager, "You've got to have a room somewhere, or just a bed, I don't care where."

"Well, I do have a double room with one occupant, a Navy guy," admitted the manager, "and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to you."

"No problem," the tired Marine assured him, "I'll take it."

The next morning the Marine came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

"How did you sleep?" asked the manager.

"Never better."

The manager was impressed. "No problem with the other guy snoring, then?"

"Nope, I shut him up in no time," said the Marine.

"How'd you manage that?" asked the manager.

"He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room," the Marine explained.

"I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, said, "Goodnight, beautiful," and after that he sat up all night watching me!"
