Condolences to Beverly (Mellstrom) Brandt’s family on her passing September 16th. Beverly lived with her parents Herbert and Julia Mellstrom in Salol while growing up and attending school. Herbert owned the Mellstrom grocery store.

Myron and Charlotte Grafstrom, from Chippewa Falls, came up for a short visit. I enjoyed lunch with them at Joes Place in Warroad. They visited Verna and Valerie, Dayton and Mary and Sam and Lola. They enjoyed a fish fry and were overnight guests at their son Paul and Sue’s in Roseau.

Verna had the Grafstrom families over for a nice lunch and visit Saturday.

Overnight guests at Jerry and Katherine Vertinas were their son Bryan, from Plymouth and their granddaughter Elizabeth from Boston, Mass. Elizabeth was in the cities to work on site at 3M- usually she works from her home.

Diane Monkman visited Marcie Santl.

Ken and Rachel Van Eps, from East Grand Forks, visited at the Nels and Erin Grafstrom home on the weekend. They also brought 200 pounds of red potatoes for the Salol Potato Dumpling Supper.

Prayers are for Josh Eider to recover from a car accident.

Roger and Betty Hulst were in the Duluth area over the weekend. They visited with Roger’s aunt Marji and also visited Corey and Leah Hulst. They spent Saturday afternoon in Two Harbors at Railroad Days where they enjoyed listening to the “Two Harbors Ukelele Group”.

On Sunday Sam and Lola enjoyed the very good supper at the Sacred Heart Church in Roseau.

Leaves are turning color here. Myron and Charlotte said 62 years ago when they made their trip up here the leaves had turned more color.

Monday I visited Lois Losse and also Bernie Bohlinger.

The grass is growing fast to make up for our summer and keep folks mowing. Cattle are grazing in better pastures.

Everyone’s gearing up for the upcoming potato dumpling supper on Saturday.

Jim Grafstrom is home from Alaska where he visited Tommy and boys. Jim, Tom and Dayton went on a moose hunting trip.
